Part of it was I read these when they were first published - so I was marking time until I finally got Owen and Penny's story (OMG, I was desperate to get my hands on that book!). The other part was that I really did not care for the secondary romance. It didn't work for me at all. But I did like the Hope/Sam storyline and that was enough to power me through to the end.
